Terrence Guay
Terrence Guay is Clinical Professor of International Business at the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University. Previously, he was a faculty member in the School of International Service at American University and the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. Prior to earning his PhD, Guay worked in commercial and international banking as an Assistant Loan Officer. He holds a BS in Engineering & Management from Clarkson University, MBA from Ohio State University, and MA and PhD from Syracuse University. At Penn State, Guay teaches undergraduate and MBA international business courses. Guay's research focuses on the competition between governments, international organizations, NGOs, and other non-state actors to shape business behavior and the international business environment, with an emphasis on Europe. He has published four books and monographs, and over 20 journal articles and book chapters on: the relationships between government policies and the global defense industry; cooperation and competition in transatlantic economic relations; the impact of economic sanctions on international business; NGOs and corporate codes of conduct; corporate social responsibility; and corporate political strategy. His most recent book is "The Business Environment of Europe: Firms, Governments, and Institutions" by Cambridge University Press.
