You want your life’s journey to be happy;
You want happiness, to be secure.
You must have a method to follow
In order for these to endure.
You must have the means of an income
from labor or money you have saved.
If you will maintain the happiness
that you have always craved.
Do your own thinking and planning,
and the dreams that you have may come true;
For the joy and success you are craving
will all depend upon you.
Your friends will enjoy all your giving,
but will scatter as soon as you take.
If you depend on the promise of others,
that usually proves a mistake.
Your dollars will take you and keep you
whenever you get to the end.
Which proves without doubt or question
the dollar is your best friend.
So, lay out a plan for your future;
a part of your income will do.
If you will take care of your pennies,
your dollars will take care of you.
