Senior Correspondent

Her body ravished, defiled by lies,
No one knows if she will survive.
Held in ICU, lying prone on a bed,
Deceit guards the door, her words unsaid.

Her message? Protect the moral foundation,
Keep it from crumbling into mere fiction.
Once cherished, false witness abhorred,
Now she contends with untruths absorbed.

Fake facts, new labels designed to disguise,
Make lies look like truth and truth look like lies.
So it’s not surprising that she's despised,
But where's the shock that she's hospitalized?

Her Doctor, amazed, says, “You are alert!
I’d never know you were so badly hurt!"
"My wounds are really minor,” Truth replies,
"Compared to the harm from embrace of lies."
