Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel” is a whopper of a shaggy dog story – or more accurately, it’s a series of shaggy dog stories that fit neatly inside one another like one of those painted Russian dolls.
The New Christie Minstrels, founded by Randy Sparks, rode a wave of popularity from our hit songs, including “This Land Is Your Land,” “Today,” “Green Green,” and Disney’s “Chim Chim Cheree.”
I suppose that most scholars of literature, and many historians, have shared a disconcerting realization of the large spiritual gap separating them from the objects of their study and admiration.
But if you enjoy tremendously insightful acting and a realistic approach to a material that usually is painted with a broad melodramatic brush, “Jimmy P.” is an achingly human experience.
