Chameleon Reality
Ah, the ironies of life.
She attended Carleton College (of liberal arts),
I attended Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science.
She studied Shakespeare and never forgot it,
I studied thermodynamics and forgot it for lack of use.
She learned about the Greek gods — Athena, Poseidon and others,
I learned about Greek mathematician Pythagoras (at least his theorem).
She tromped the hills and national parks of U.S. and Europe,
I tromped the hills of Kansas and the Ardennes Forest.
She described thousands of birds of prey,
I abstracted thousands of U.S. patents.
She became a professional writer and documentary producer,
I became a patent agent and an amateur newsletter editor.
