Alice Dent
Born in Shanghai, China to Iraqi-British parents, Alice Dent graduated from Shanghai Public (High) School and earned a scholarship to a university of her choice. Her schooling was interrupted by the Japanese occupation during which her family suffered greatly — her mother even losing her life for refusing to cooperate as an interpreter.
After the war she worked for a U.S. government agency where she met her husband-to-be, Carl Dent, who was in the U.S. Army. They married and came to the United States in 1948. His Army career took the couple and their two children throughout the country.
She resides in The Beatitudes Campus in Phoenix, Arizona.
