Bud Newman

Bud Newman, a Washington-based reporter for three decades, spent nearly 20 years on Capitol Hill covering Congress, focusing on budget and tax issues. He was based at the White House and the Pentagon, and also covered the 1988 presidential race. Before he was sent to Washington in 1978, he covered state government in Tallahassee, Fla., and was the local political writer and columnist for The Palm Beach Post (Fla.)  He now lives in Silver Spring, Md.
