Joel Meyers

Joel Meyers is a Regents’ professor in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services and is the executive director of the Center for School Safety, School Climate and Classroom Management at Georgia State University. Meyers previously served as president of the American Psychological Association Division of School Psychology and has served as the editor of the Journal of School Psychology.

His research focuses on the prevention of learning and adjustment problems in children with a focus on preventing school bullying and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. He also investigates school climate and preventive interventions like positive behavior intervention and supports.
