Karen Shane
Karen Shane is an adventurer and writer. By boat, by foot and by Airstream, she has travelled the world.
She retired in 1994 as community relations manager from Albuquerque's Sandia National Laboratories, where she founded the employee volunteer program and hosted a community lecture series. She served on the Governor's Task Force on Voluntarism and was president of the Greater Albuquerque Volunteer Association. She was the recipient of the American Red Cross Award for Outstanding Leadership in Voluntarism.
Karen and her husband reside in Royal Oaks retirement community in Sun City, part of Greater Phoenix.
