In 2003 she became a Durham Master Gardener volunteer. The national Master Gardener Volunteer program is connected to land grant universities. Its purpose is to share horticultural advice and information throughout the community. Kit writes both for the Durham Master Gardener Volunteer newsletter and for “Triangle Gardener,” a free bi-monthly periodical available throughout the Triangle.
