Randle R. Mixon

Randle R. (Rick) Mixon is an American Baptist pastor and professor. He has held pastorates in Palo Alto, Granville, Ohio, and San Francisco and taught pastoral care and counseling at Berkeley School of Theology and Pacific School of Religion plus marriage and family therapy at Saybrook Graduate School and Holy Names College.

He holds degrees from Columbia University, Berkeley School of Theology, California State University East Bay and the Graduate Theological Union. He worked for a number of years as a marriage and family therapist, specializing in work with gay and bisexual men living with HIV/AIDS. 

Born in Kansas, he considers Boise, Idaho, his hometown. He has made his home in the San Francisco Bay Area for most of the past 50-plus years. To his knowledge, he is the first openly gay person to be ordained as a Baptist (1996).
