Senior Correspondent

Rebecca DeShaw

Rebecca DeShaw was born and raised in Seattle, but with her husband, Glen, she lived in eight states. She and Glen were married for almost 45 years when he died of liver cancer in January 2017. They have two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer, and two grandchildren. Although retired, she continues to be an active web and instructional materials designer and data systems specialist by working on projects for her church and various contracts.

After spending many years as a resident of Wesley Homes in Des Moines, Wash., she moved to her own apartment. Living on her own for the first time is a new adventure. Rebecca's pastimes include playing the flute, singing, knitting and other handcrafts, and she recently started taking piano lessons.
