Roberta Needles was born in 1948 and grew up listening to her father play his clarinet. At age nine, she began playing the violin. Music became an important part of her life and that love led her to major in the subject at college. After college she attended a United Methodist seminary to prepare for a life in ministry. She went on to pastor for 28 years, all the while playing her violin for various occasions.
Roberta’s passion for music allows her to hear sounds all around her —in her children, nature, and the world. Writing about life has opened her up to even more beautiful sounds. She credits music for her ability to value all her experiences. She currently resides at Wesley Homes in Des Moines, Wash.
