Pleasure

Pleasure

High on a hill at sunset
With friends surrounding me,
I like to sit ‘till moon and stars
Are all that I can see.

No longer can I see the smiles
Upon my comrades’ faces.
Too many shadows creep around
And fill the open spaces.

But still the warmth of friendly words
Is lingering in each heart.
A little while we’ll sit like this,
And then we all must part.
