HOW LIKE CATERPILLARS WE ARE –
Creeping, crawling, cavorting over
Every leaf and limb;
Searching for that
Scintillating something that
Will feed us forever.
How like caterpillars we are –
Toiling, turning, spinning –
Wrapping life closer and closer
About ourselves
‘til we close out the world around us
from those who would give
and take our love.
But OH!
How like butterflies we can become!
Once we give up our
Creeping and crawling
Turning and toiling.
He can give us new life…
And freedom to fly!
